Watsonia

Watsonia is the scientific journal of the BSBI, published twice a year. It covers British and Irish vascular plants, their taxonomy, biosystematics, ecology, distribution and conservation, as well as topics of a more general or historical nature.

Instructions to contributors

Papers & short notes should be sent to Mr M.N. Sanford, Suffolk Biological Records Centre, Ipswich Museum, High Street, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1 3QH.

Obituaries to Mrs M. Briggs, 9 Arun Prospect, Pulborough, West Sussex, RH2O 1AL.

Potential authors should consult the Hon. Receiving Editor, Martin Sanford, for advice on suitability or any other matter relating to submission of manuscripts.

BSBI News

BSBI News is for short contributions of topical interest. It is there for members who have something interesting, informative or just plain amusing that they would like to share with others and is meant to be the place for the ‘ordinary’ member to express her or his opinions. It appears three times a year, in January, April and September.

Publications In progress

Service Trees, Rowans and Whitebeams, by Tim Rich and colleages, is at the draft stage.

Viola: currently (Oct 2008) in the fieldwork stage; publication is hoped for about 2011.

Hybrids: this major work is taking longer than originally anticipated, but is progressing well and should be ready in about 2010.

In the pipeline...

Not one of our Handbooks, but of interest to members, Stace’s Flora edition 3 is now completed and expected in April 2010.
