Northamptonshire Flora Group
The Northamptonshire Flora Group was first formed to facilitate the publication of a new vice- county flora, which was published in 1995 (Gent and Wilson). This was followed by an expanded Flora in 2013 (Gent and Wilson). The botany group today is led by the Vice-county Recorders, Alyson Freeman, Brian Laney and Richard Mabbutt. Members contributed many records to Atlas 2020 (plantatlas2020.org).
We arrange field meetings throughout the year, visiting botanically interesting sites and doing recording at the monad (1 km square) level. You are welcome to join us on any of our outings, please contact Richard Mabbutt at richard.mabbutt55@gmail.com. Our meetings and activities can be found on our Facebook page Northamptonshire and Peterborough Botany.
Records for plants in the county can be sent directly to Alyson Freeman, or please use the BSBI Recording App (preferred), iRecord or iNaturalist.
