Subscriptions

Membership

Members of the BSBI receive our newsletter and our journal. They are also welcome to attend our field meetings throughout Britain & Ireland - and sometimes abroad, too. In addition they may request the help of our expert county recorders and national referees.

There is a password protected members’ page on this web site which allows access to the New Journal of Botany. If you are a member, contact the coordinator for the password.

Membership categories

  • Ordinary (UK & Ireland): £25 (€30) per year.
  • Family: £3 (€4) for each additional member (but no separate mailings).
  • Junior: £10 (€12) (up to the age of 21 or up to 25 if in full-time education).
  • Overseas: £27 (€33).

Subscriptions are due on the 1st of January each year but if you join after 1st October the subscription lasts to 31st December of the following year. Cheques should be made payable to “BSBI” and sent to:

Changes of address

Please notify the membership secretary, Gwynn Ellis, of any change of address.

Members who have been with the Society for at least 10 years, are over 60 and not in full time employment, may apply to the Membership Secretary (Gwynn Ellis) to have their subscriptions reduced to a 'Senior'  rate.

 

Online payments

You can now pay your subscription online using a secure Paypal system (if you don’t have a Paypal account you can still pay online using a debit card). It’s only available for a standard subscription at the moment, but we’ll expand it to include all categories shortly.

Please note that you must also notify any change of address to the membership secretary (see below). New members must fill in and return the membership application form.

Institutional subscriptions

With the introduction of the New Journal of Botany BSBI has abolished its institutional membership category. Institutions will instead subscribe to NJB via our publishers, Maney. Visit the web site for details.
